OsteoZone — Strong Bones, Stronger Life

Frequently asked questions

Everything people ask before their first session.

What is OsteoZone?

OsteoZone is a specialized bone health studio focused on improving bone strength through osteogenic loading—a science-based method that uses brief, high-force mechanical loading to stimulate the body's natural bone-building process. Our guided sessions are quick, safe, and designed to help individuals who want to improve or maintain healthy bone density.

What is osteogenic loading?

Osteogenic loading applies short bursts of high mechanical force to stimulate the body's natural bone remodeling process and encourage new bone formation. At OsteoZone, specialized equipment is used allowing users to safely press against a fixed position at a near maximal effort for only five seconds per exercise. Osteogenic loading is focused along 4 axis to stimulate bone building in the spine, hips, legs, arms, and ribs.

How does osteogenic loading improve bone density?

Bones respond to mechanical stress by activating osteoblasts, the cells responsible for building new bone tissue. Over time this natural remodeling process may improve bone density when combined with proper nutrition and overall health.

Who can benefit from OsteoZone?

Adults concerned about bone loss, men and women over 40, people with osteopenia or osteoporosis, peri-menopausal and post-menopausal women, older adults wanting to remain active, and anyone seeking to proactively support bone health.

Is OsteoZone a replacement for medication?

No. It is intended to complement—not replace—medical care, medications, nutrition, and physician recommendations.

How long are sessions, and what happens during each session?

Sessions are 15 minutes, once per week. A trainer will start you on a vibration plate and lead you through stretching and balancing exercises to warm up your muscles. You will then move to the osteogenic loading equipment where a coach will guide you through 4 different exercises. You will push at your best effort for 5 seconds and then move on to the next exercise until you have completed all 4. Again, a coach will be with you every step of the way making sure your form is correct each and every time. Some clients will choose to do a 10 minute hydromassage session at the end. This is optional, but feels great on your muscles!

How often should I come?

It is recommended to attend one guided session each week.

When will I notice results?

Bone remodeling is gradual and increasing bone density can take 1-2 years, although many people notice improved confidence, balance, posture, and strength much earlier. Progress is typically monitored using DEXA scans.

Is osteogenic loading safe?

Osteogenic loading is generally very safe and well tolerated. You are supervised and coached during all of the exercises and you are in complete control during the session. You are pushing against fixed resistance; the device is not moving. A health review is completed at your initial session so we can adjust to any limitations you might have.

Will it hurt?

No — the loading is brief and controlled and is not intended to cause pain.

Do I need to be physically fit?

No — OsteoZone is for people of all fitness levels. Programs are individualized and supervised.

What equipment does OsteoZone use?

Specialized osteogenic loading equipment, vibration plate therapy, and optional wellness services.

Can I get the same results lifting heavy weights at the gym?

Lifting weights helps build muscle strength, but it does not typically trigger bone growth. Research shows that bone builds only when it receives about 4.2 times your body weight in force. This force is very difficult to safely achieve at a gym with weights.

Our specialized osteogenic loading equipment allows our clients to safely direct more weight/force than they would likely be able to achieve in a gym environment. These forces are also very intentionally directed to the primary areas you would seek to improve bone density. OsteoZone focuses on short, heavy, intentional, guided movement so you can build bone safely.

Can osteogenic loading help osteoporosis?

Research suggests mechanical loading can support bone health, but results vary and no specific outcomes can be guaranteed.

Do I need a bone density scan?

A recent DEXA scan is recommended to establish a baseline and monitor progress, but is not a necessity.

Can men benefit?

Absolutely! Men also experience bone loss due to a variety of factors and can benefit from improving bone strength.

Is OsteoZone only for seniors?

No. Adults in their 40s and beyond can benefit from proactive bone health programs.

What should I wear?

Come as you are! There are no specific clothing or shoe requirements.

What happens during my first visit?

During your first visit, we will go over a thorough health history review and discuss your goals. If one of your goals is to improve bone health and strength, you are in the right place! A trainer will do a free guided session taking you through the four different exercises and answering any questions you may have. Expect your first session to last around 45 minutes and all future sessions are 15 minutes.

Do I need a doctor's referral?

No — although some individuals may be advised to consult their physician first.

What makes OsteoZone different?
